This is me

For more than twenty years, I have worked across fields and disciplines as a nonprofit administrator, artist and educator. Most recently, I engineered the transfer of the nationally regarded professional development program, Artist INC, from the University of Missouri-Kansas City Innovation Center to Mid-America Arts Alliance, leading an expansion of the Artist INC to more than ten communities throughout the Midwest while also creating and managing two artist grant programs—initiated by the Walton Family Foundation and The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. In 2019, I founded Artists Build, a consulting business focused on organizations and funders that center and support individual artists.

Working inside a wide variety of organizations and environments has given me the opportunity to develop a range of skills that I can deploy to help organizations and people solve problems, seize opportunities, and move the needle in the direction of their dreams.

I seek challenging opportunities where my singular set of skills and experiences can make a difference.

My nonprofit experience includes a variety of positions requiring a wide range of skills including resource development, communications, program design and management, facilitation, event planning, and executive leadership.

The thread that weaves throughout my resume is connecting organizations to resources, both human and financial, by constructing compelling narratives strategically targeted at the space where an organization’s mission overlaps with the needs of audiences and the initiatives of funding partners.

I am a big-picture thinker who loves challenges because that is when we grow. I am a passionate problem-solver, storyteller, and collaborator. I am deeply interested in the intersection of personal and civic identity and committed to transparent processes, equitable solutions, and social justice.
